2014 Aug 213 Hong Kong to Offer Skype’s Unlimited World Calling Service

  • 3 Hong Kong, a mobile service provider in Hong Kong, has announced a collaborative agreement with Skype to offer its customers Skype’s Unlimited World calling product to make calls to mobile and landline phones for a monthly fee of HK$69.
  • 3HK are offering the following bundled services for prepaid customers SIM via 3 Skypephone.  No contract is required.  Skype Call – Enjoy unlimited calls with your Skype friends all over the world; Skype Chat – Send and receive unlimited Intra-Skype Network SMS
  • Subject to fair se – Skype Service fair usage policy: 4,000 minutes of Skype to Skype calls and 8,000 Skype Chat messages per 30 days.

PDP – While this may be good for consumers (us), the operator (3HK) and the OTT provider (Skype) I would say that the Net Neutrality proponents will be up in arms.  OTT collaboration deals once again being done behind closed doors.  Will this detrimentally affect Skype’s competitors over the 3HK LTE network?
