General Motors 4G LTE Data Plan Pricing Announced
- GM is launching its in-car 4g LTE wireless internet next month, and the American automaker
has announced pricing starting from $5 a month.
- Each car equipped with the setup will come with a trial period of three months or three gigabytes. After that, customers will be able to choose between four monthly plans or two one time purchase plans. Customers who subscribe to OnStar will also be given a break in the form of cheaper internet plans.
- GM’s internet service will be provided by AT&T, and will be made available to existing AT&T users for an additional $10 a month when a car is added onto a mobile share plan.
- The technology will launch on the 2015 Chevy Malibu, but GM says more than 30 vehicles from across its brand portfolio will add in-car internet before the end of the year.
